Spring brings a profusion of color on the ground and in the trees, and the birds are everywhere singing to their heart's content. Autumn sets the Blue Ridge Mountains ablaze with magnificent fall color. With the first weekend in October comes the "October at Oz Festival” on Beech Mountain and the third weekend of the month is highlighted by the "Woolly Worm Festival” in Banner Elk and the “Valle Crucis Country Fair.”
